Marginal Theatre in association with Poetry NI and Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival will present readings of Dr Angelou's poetry and performance of music associated with this famous American civil rights activist and author. The event starts at 6.30 with a wine reception and some blues music while people arrive, introduction, a selection of poems and extracts by Angelou , then some Jazz piano, saxophone, vocals; then Angelou-inspired poets will read related work. Readers include Shelley Tracey, Paula Matthews, Michelle Dowd, Wilma Kenny, Olive Kabuti, Vicky Parsons, Colin Hassard, Nandi Jola, Jim Meredith Patricia-Devlin Hill, David Smylie and Maria McManus. |
