Welcome to POETRY NI+.
First set up in February 2014, evolving from various separate ventures, Poetry NI+ is a multimedia, multi-platform showcase and resource provider for poets, showcasing great writing through new writing, publications, readings, open mics, sound releases, workshops and more. Our projects include PURELY POETRY: our live open mic poetry night at Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast; FOURXFOUR POETRY JOURNAL: Currently on hiatus, but reopening for submissions later this year. RANCID IDOLS PRODUCTIONS: Our digital publishing wing, releasing experimental sounds, spoken word, pamphlets and e-books. PANNING FOR POEMS: our print-out, fold-up micro-poetry micro-journal; Initially, we focused solely on work by poets from or residing in Northern Ireland. But wanting to spread our wings and support other creatives and avenues, we've added the '+'. We also organise readings, projects and workshops from time to time for local festivals and organisations. We've worked with the likes of Belfast Book Festival, Aspects Literary Festival, Poetry Ireland, Verbal Arts Centre, Lagan Online, Open Arts, Arts & Disability Forum, Crescent Arts Centre, Newcastle Arts Festival, Stendhal Festival, FSNI National Poetry Competition, Aware NI and more. Everything we do, we do for free. We are an unfunded, two-person operation, driven by the love of poetry, and the want to support others. If you like what you do, please consider donating and helping us continue our work.
