 Back in October 2011, the first ever Purely Poetry open mic night happened at the Crescent Arts Centre. We didn't have any long term plan, we just wanted to help provide a platform for people to come and share their work, listen in, meet other poets and poetry fans, all in a nice, relaxed setting.
Five years later, and we have achieved an awful lot, had hundred of people come up to the mic, experienced thousands of poems, and met some new and wonderful friends along the way. And we couldn't have done a single one of these things without YOUR support. So, as a way of saying THANK YOU, we're giving FREE ADMISSION for our 5th Birthday Party. Come along, bring some poems, or just sit in and listen, share in the craic, and experience what we do best: help bring poetry to life.
