Jon Plunkett wins Bangor Poetry Slam at Aspects

A hearty well done and congratulations to Jon Plunkett, the overall winner of the Bangor heat of the All Ireland Poetry Slam at Aspects Festival!

​It was a windy night in Bangor, but only the poems blew us away! Jon and runner-up Joe Black (who wowed us not only with poems but also magic tricks!) now go on to compete in the Ulster stage final in Enniskillen next Saturday, good luck to them!

And well done also to third place, Mark Smith, for three great poems throughout the event. Thank you to everyone who entered and to all who came along, clapped, cheered and shared the craic, we had a fantastic night.

Many thanks also to our guest readers on the night, Diane Morrison and Gerry McCullough, who entertained the packed crowd between the rounds, and Peter Adair, for assisting us in the judging.
