Poetry NI present: The Grand Final of the All Ireland Poetry Slam Doors open 9pm, Start 9.30pm. This is the ninth annual All Ireland Poetry Slam Final, returning back to the city where the first winner inaugurated the competition, when the Galway Liverpool poet Brendan Murphy was crowned champion in McHugh's bar, Belfast, 2007. |
After 10 preliminary competitive slam poetry heats in the four provinces, one each in Connacht, Leinster, Munster, and six spread across five counties of the north - culminating in a seventh at the inaugural All Ulster Live Poetry (Slam) Final in Fermanagh - two finalists from each province, representing themselves and live poetry on this island, will slam it out at this year's 2015 final for the title of All Ireland Live Poetry Champion 2015/16.
The finalists are:
Connacht: Fiinn Costelloe & Cathal Holden
Leinster: John Cummins & Clara Rose Thornton
Munster: Cormac Lally & Paul McNamara
Ulster: Philip Doherty & Rory Jones
